Márk graduated from the University of Debrecen in 2011. In 2013, he obtained a postgraduate degree in energy law at the University of Pécs. Between 2011 and 2023, he worked at the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority and its predecessor as Unit Head, and from 2015 as Deputy Head of Department. During these 12 years spent at the Authority, he was mainly involved in the price regulation and licensing of the district heating sector, including the preparation of legislation, managing administrative procedures and participate in respective litigations. He has also gained an insight into corporate law and business law. He speaks Hungarian and English and is a member of the Budapest Bar Association.

In his work as an energy lawyer, Márk has been involved in several significant procedures and projects, such as:

  • Involvement in preparing the law for the Hungarian district heating sector’s price regulation and support system effective to date since October 2011
  • Participation in the development and operation of the district heating sector’s price regulation and support system
  • Legal supervision of administrative procedures related to the public pricing mechanism in the district heating sector
  • Legal supervision of administrative procedures related to the supply security of district heating
  • Legal support in energy production authorisation procedures for cogenerated energy supply with district heating
